MARCH 2007

CANDYMAN! CANDYMAN! That song is sooooo HOT! As you can tell! It is number one for a second month in a row, and that's an accomplishment in this world of freakin awesome music! However it just barely eaked out the top spot again this month because hot on it's heals was Avril Lavigne's new hit song "Girlfriend". That is such an awesome song, gets ya goin! Another hot song (and video that guys dream about) is "Beautiful Liar" by Beyonce AND Shakira... yes two of the sexiest women in the world in a song TOGETHER! Of course that would get a lot of plays in my world. "Say It Right" is in it's fifth consecutive month of being in the Top 10... talk about staying power! "U + Ur Hand" makes a come back on my charts after it has recieved a lot of radio airplay. Carrie Underwood made her Top 10 debut with "Before He Cheats". I didn't see that coming, however even though its country, Top 40 radio stations are playing it. Yay. Another idol, Katharine McPhee also made her debut with "Over It". "Pop Goes My Heart", a song in the movie "Music and Lyrics" is addicting and thus was in my Top 10. Next month I have a feeling that Kelly Clarkson will finally release her first single of her new album "My December" and just may claim the number one spot for April... we will see.

FEBRUARY 2007

Yeehawwwww! Holy smack February was a CRAZY ride!! A lot to talk about for this month. First of all let me tell you that I am in a fog as to how I had enough time to listen to SO MUCH MUSIC! I mean I have to work like all the time. But I have managed to find time to play good music... and OMG did I ever have good music this month!! Proof of that is in the top 2. Number one this month was "Candyman"... FINALLY! I mean it debuted in August on here and then fell off, and as you know has been climbing my charts ever since. And now that "Candyman" is getting airplay, don't look for "Candyman" to go anywhere anytime soon. I am totally addicted with "Candyman"... I can't stop typing the name! LOL. So "Candyman" broke the all time record for Mic's Top 10 with having the most plays ever recorded in a month, with 64!!!!!!!!!! A record is indicated with a (*) symbol. But let's not stop the record talk there, because February was so amazing that we had not 1, BUT 2 records broken! Yes, "With Love" the new song by Hilary Duff made the highest debut ever with the amount of spins. She debuted with 62 spins! It was an all battle between "Candyman" and "With Love" the whole month, with "With Love" leading most of the month, but "Candyman" made a last minute surge, topping "With Love" by 2. In other news, if you visited my blog any, you saw some winter storm pics, and because of the winter weather, "Let It Snow" made a HUGE come back this month coming in at number 3! "Say It Right" continues to stay strong. "Here In Your Arms" has turned out to be a song that dies out fast and came in a low 8th... I wouldn't expect to see it again next month. I just can't stay away from "Wind It Up". It too made a come back this month. Justin Timberlake's song "What Goes Around Comes Around" was a song I HATED when it first came out, but since then I have grown very fond of it, and hence it's high position for the month. I also got new music from Gwen and Jojo.

JANUARY 2007

January, January, January. This month was interesting as far as music goes. The first half of the month was absolutely BORING! And scary. I mean I had no new music to listen to, and that was coming off of an uneventful December. There was almost no plays of music in my world the first half of January. I began to wonder if I was even gonna be able to record any music for my Top 10. So I had to deal with it by playing older songs that I still kinda liked, hence the Top 10 had numerous old songs from last year. Then the second half of January came, THANKFULLY! Music began streaming in, and that is how we got to where we are now. My radio station played a commercial with Ashley Tisdale's new song. "He Said, She Said", and hence it became my number one song in January. Nelly Furtado's song "Say It Right" continues it upward climb, and is still showing no signs of getting old in my book. "Fergalicious" is slowly oozing it's way down, but is still in the top 5. A couple of old songs with new remixes made the 10. And if I think I am thinking correctly, lol, "Here (In Your Arms)" by Hellogoodbye may become a huge hit in February in my Top 10. "Candyman" once again continues it rapid rise to the top, as it has now been released to radio and I STILL LOVE IT even after it was number one way back in August! Can it make it back to the top after 6 months? Wait and see til' next month.

2006 Overall

OMG! Can you believe it!? 2006 is OVER! What a year for music. 2 out of the three musketeers made a return to the music scene, with the return of Christina Aguilera and Justin Timberlake. Britney Spears was supposed to make her comeback this year, which would've completed the three musketeers , but it was delayed due to her babies. Ew. Anyway, to the top 10 of 2006, keep in mind that the results shown are basically from September thru December due to the fact that's when I began recording the total plays. So for songs that were big in my world January thru August I will mention in the "Honorable Mentions". So now to the "Official Top 10", this time last year Paris Hilton was letting everyone know that she was gonna release an album. This summer she did, and her debut album "Paris" spawned my number 1 song of 06' "Nothing In This World". Congrats to Paris. Fergie went solo this year and produced two HUGE songs, one of which is my number 2 song "Fergalicious". A new group that I have become practically obsessed with, RBD came out with their first North American single, "Tu Amor". I was hooked from there on. A British girl that goes by the name Lady Sovereign made my top ten with her catchy song "Love Me Or Hate Me". Pink also made an impression rounding out my 10.

DECEMBER 2006

Yipee! The last month of 2006 came and went. As far as the music was concerned, to be honest, this was probably the most uneventful month yet. It was however, a steady, slow month. Due to the fact that cold weather is here, winter favorites (non-holiday oriented) made the top 10, even making it to the coveted number 1 position with "Let It Snow" remade by Jessica Simpson. "Fergalicious" became the first song to loose plays but still climb in position, and thats why I started recording both plays and positions. "Candyman" made a return to the 10 after its debut in August, due to the fact of it being played on Verizon commercials. RBD came out with a new song and Gwen Stefani's new one also made the 10.

NOVEMBER 2006

17 songs were in my Top 10 this 11th month of the new year! That means that there were a lot of ties. A LOT! Number 6 had a three way tie, while number 8 was a tie between 4 songs! My number 1 song this month was "Lovestoned", which I thought was Justin Timberlake's third single, but I found out at the end of this month it wasn't, but I still love the song. The Pussycat Dolls produced a song that I just couldn't get enough of with "Wait A Minute". Meanwhile Gwen Stefani kept climbing my charts from 9th to 3rd. Fergie stayed strong climbing from 7th to 4th. "Come To Me" made a huge return to the Top 10 after dropping of the charts in October, it came back and landed at number 5! Kelly Clarkson made an astronormous return to my Top 10 after not being on my charts since August! She sang Reba McEntire's classic song "Why Haven't I Heard From You" at CMT's "Giants: Reba". A show dedicated to recognizing Reba McEntire.

OCTOBER 2006

OCTOBER ROCKED! Wow, October was such an awesome month for music. This month I was introduced to a new hip/hop kid on the block, Lady Sovereign while watching her video "Love Me or Hate Me" on TRL, becoming my numero uno song for October-o. I was hooked. Paris Hilton became the first artist to stay in my top 3 two months in a row with her single "Nothing In This World", climbing one position from 3 to 2. I became addicted to the new country song "Watching You" and it collected 17 plays this month in about a weeks time. I was looking at hits across the world and came across my two 5th place songs, "Can't Get Enough", a middle eastern hit, and "From Paris to Berlin", a European smash hit. Gwen Stefani made her glorious return to the music scene and her new single flew into the 9th place position in just two days. I added yellow arrows to indicate whether or not that song gained or lost plays compared to the previous month. I decided to do that because a song could lose a few spins but still climb a spot or two with songs higher up in the charts having a more dramatic fall in plays. On the other hand a song could gain some plays but still fall a few positions because of other faster rising songs.
