Mic's Top 10 Is No More

As of now a monthly break down of my listening habits are not viable, therefore, as of now, I will no longer be posting a monthly top 10. However a yearly countdown will continue. For more on that, please continue to refer to my blog at www.micvachon.com.
THANK YOU! :-)

August 2007

BRITNEY'S BAAAAAAAACCCCCCCCKKKKK! YESSSSSSSSSSSSS! I'm SO SO SO SO SO EXCITED! I love August 2007! :-D I have been waiting and waiting and waiting Britney's new song for YEARS! And it's finally here! And boy, it barely made it in time for the August report. "Gimme More", Brit's comeback single leaked on the net, and a couple of hours later was premiered on New York's Z100 on Thursday, August 30th. In less than 24 hours it was the No.1 most requested song in New York City, Washington DC and Australia! When I got the song Thursday evening, I couldn't get enough of it. I had it on nonstop rotation on my computer and iPod. I can not explain how obsessed I am over this song. It's not possible to explain it! I mean, even when I think it's time to give the song a break, I CAN'T turn the song. I HAVE TO HAVE MORE OF "GIMME MORE"! It's like Pringle's chips, you can't stop eating them! OK I could talk about "Gimme More" all day, but I'm moving on. Even though it was out for 2 days in August, nothing could top Britney's comeback this month, however there were other songs this month, that if Brit didn't rain on their parade, would've been getting a lot of glory this month. Namely "Easy" by Paula DeAnda, "Hot, Bangin', Supa Sexy" by The Audio Club, and the black horse of the month is the uber catchy "Body Language" by Heidi Montag from "The Hills".

1)"Gimme More" - Britney Spears

2)"Body Language" - Heidi Montag

3)"Easy" - Paula DeAnda

4)"The Way I Are" - Timbaland

5)"Potential Breakup Song" - Aly and AJ

6)"The Great Escape" - Boys Like Girls

7)"Time After Time" - Quietdrive

8)"Hot, Bangin', Supa Sexy" - The Audio Club

9)"What Time Is It" - High School Musical 2

10)"Who Knew" - Pink

July 2007

Ok so July was pretty boring in the music department. Not horrible , it was OK i guess. I had a lot of favorites on my iPod this month though. At one point I had over 50 current favorites! There really isn't much to say about this month. Pretty unadventurous. I'm already thinking about next month. Britney Spears' new song is coming out then, and if I could see any song definantily being in the top of my charts in the coming months, it would be Brit Brit's new song. I can not tell you how excited I am about it! Anyway, that's next month, this month the stand out songs were "Big Girls Don't Cry" by Fergie, "Do It" Nelly Furtado, "Me Love" Sean Kingston, "Electropop" Jupiter Rising as well as "The Great Escape" - Boys Like Girls. Ok well I am totally not excited about July's music, so yeah... I CAN'T WAIT FOR AUGUST!

Oh yeah and for some reason I forgot all about "Big Girls Don't Cry" by Fergie when I made the Top 10 chart for this month, but "Big Girls Don't Cry" - Fergie is Number 1 this month!

June 2007

So a new way of posting Mic's Top 10 will close out the first half of 2007. It was getting too tedious to have to write down all the numbers and clean playlists and remember what certain number were when I forgot them, and having a favorite song BARELY miss the Top 10 for no reason. Sooo I have decided to not count anymore Top 10's, and just write what was hot for me in the month from here on out. And just reset the playcount every year, not month. So here is what went down in June 07.

Ok so June has come and gone and boy was the music hot! I spent the first half of June in Florida where they played some hot new music I fell in love with, namely "Beautiful Girls" -Sean Kingston, "Like A Boy" - Ciara and "Big Girls Don't Cry" - Fergie. In other music, Rihanna had four songs in My Current Favs, and I think it's safe to say that they will be in next months as well. "Candyman" would have probably been in the bottom half of the Top 10 if I was still counting. It has seriously plummeted in my playing it because of all the huge summer hits coming out. OK well here we go, lets get to what I think were the 10 songs that were for me in June.

1)"Beautiful Girls" - Sean Kingston

2)"Big Girls Don't Cry" - Fergie

3)"Like A Boy" - Ciara

4)"Thnks Fr th Mmrs" - Fall Out Boy

5)"Whine Up" - Kat Deluna

6)"Shut Up And Drive" - Rihanna

7)"Everything" - Michael Buble

8)"Push" - Enrique Iglesias

9)"Potential Break Up Song" - Aly and AJ

10)"Stranger" Hilary Duff

MAY 2007

Ok so May has proven to be an unbelievable month for music. Older songs are slowly falling off the chart one by one, and new ones are rising up to take their place. Yet another "Top 10" record was broken. "Before He Cheats" has been gradually climbing position every month, and now has finally reached the top IN A BIG WAY. "Before He Cheats" broke the record for most spins in a month, previously held by "Candyman". "Candyman" remains at the number 2 spot, watching one song drop from number one, just to be replaced by another. "Candyman" may not be number 1 this month, however not falling out of the top 3 for 5 consecutive months is truly amazing. "Never Again" which made a huge debut last month has leveled out and is still getting heavily listenage... is that a word? LOL. The new one from Rihanna "Umbrella" is soooo addicting. A remix of Avril Lavigne's "Girlfriend" was released to radio featuring Lil Mama, which out beat the original! Pink, Gwen and Maroon 5 continue strong, and Enrique Iglesias makes his Top 10 debut with "Do You Know (The Ping Pong Song).

1)5"Before He Cheats" - Carrie Underwood 74*5

2)="Candyman" - Christina Aguilera 695

3)5"Umbrella " - Rihanna 665

APRIL 2007

KELLY CLARKSON IS BBBBAAAAAAAAACCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!! YES! YES! YES! :-) OMG! I have been waiting forever for this moment.... the day I would be talking about Kelly's new song in my Top 10... and that day is HERE! WooooHooooo!!!! So "Candyman" has gracefully given up its throne as number one to the one and only "Never Again", Kelly Clarkson's new song. Last month, I typed the following words...(and if you don't believe me, just scroll down)...."Next month I have a feeling that Kelly Clarkson will finally release her first single of her new album "My December" and just may claim the number one spot for April... we will see". Am I good or what!?!?!? So Kelly's new song is HOT... the rockiest, raspiest, most edgy song ever with lyrics like "I Hope The Ring You Gave To Her Turns Her Finger Green", and "You'll Die Together But Alone". Kelly is mad in the song and she lets you know. However April was not all about Ms. Clarkson, "Candyman" may have fallen out of the top spot, but Christina didn't fall far, just down one spot to Number Two. Carrie Underwood's "Before He Cheats" made a huge leap from 7 - 3, with an increase of 20 spins from last month, due to every freakin radio station playing it! The black horse of the Top 10 was a dude named Darin. He was a contestant on "Swedish Idol" a few years ago and is a superstar in Sweden and Finland... and of course now Mic's Top 10! His beats are awesome and catchy and his voice is undeniable. Darin became the first artist to have three, yes that's 3 songs in the Top 10 in a single month! "With Love", "Girlfriend", & "U + Ur Hand" have all fallen since last month, but have managed to stay in the Top 10... and ironically in March "The Sweet Escape" by Gwen Stefani and "Give It To Me" a collaboration with Timbaland/Nelly Furtado/Justin Timberlake were both tied in the Number Five spot, now in April they are tied in the Number 8 spot together! Songs that are truly in love with eachother, rising and falling as one. LOL. Oh and the cherry on the top of this April Top 10 sundae... Maroon 5 has finally made their comeback and just barely cracked the Top 10 at Number 10 with "Makes Me Wonder". Oh yeah and "Say It Right" now holds the record of being in the Top 10 the most consecutive months... which is at 6 months in a row at the moment.

1)5"Never Again" - Kelly Clarkson 615

2)6"Candyman" - Christina Aguilera 566 tied with
5 "Never Again (David Aude Remix)" - Kelly Clarkson 565

4)5"Desire" - Darin 435

5"Makes Me Wonder" - Maroon 5 305

MARCH 2007

CANDYMAN! CANDYMAN! That song is sooooo HOT! As you can tell! It is number one for a second month in a row, and that's an accomplishment in this world of freakin awesome music! However it just barely eaked out the top spot again this month because hot on it's heals was Avril Lavigne's new hit song "Girlfriend". That is such an awesome song, gets ya goin! Another hot song (and video that guys dream about) is "Beautiful Liar" by Beyonce AND Shakira... yes two of the sexiest women in the world in a song TOGETHER! Of course that would get a lot of plays in my world. "Say It Right" is in it's fifth consecutive month of being in the Top 10... talk about staying power! "U + Ur Hand" makes a come back on my charts after it has recieved a lot of radio airplay. Carrie Underwood made her Top 10 debut with "Before He Cheats". I didn't see that coming, however even though its country, Top 40 radio stations are playing it. Yay. Another idol, Katharine McPhee also made her debut with "Over It". "Pop Goes My Heart", a song in the movie "Music and Lyrics" is addicting and thus was in my Top 10. Next month I have a feeling that Kelly Clarkson will finally release her first single of her new album "My December" and just may claim the number one spot for April... we will see.

FEBRUARY 2007

Yeehawwwww! Holy smack February was a CRAZY ride!! A lot to talk about for this month. First of all let me tell you that I am in a fog as to how I had enough time to listen to SO MUCH MUSIC! I mean I have to work like all the time. But I have managed to find time to play good music... and OMG did I ever have good music this month!! Proof of that is in the top 2. Number one this month was "Candyman"... FINALLY! I mean it debuted in August on here and then fell off, and as you know has been climbing my charts ever since. And now that "Candyman" is getting airplay, don't look for "Candyman" to go anywhere anytime soon. I am totally addicted with "Candyman"... I can't stop typing the name! LOL. So "Candyman" broke the all time record for Mic's Top 10 with having the most plays ever recorded in a month, with 64!!!!!!!!!! A record is indicated with a (*) symbol. But let's not stop the record talk there, because February was so amazing that we had not 1, BUT 2 records broken! Yes, "With Love" the new song by Hilary Duff made the highest debut ever with the amount of spins. She debuted with 62 spins! It was an all battle between "Candyman" and "With Love" the whole month, with "With Love" leading most of the month, but "Candyman" made a last minute surge, topping "With Love" by 2. In other news, if you visited my blog any, you saw some winter storm pics, and because of the winter weather, "Let It Snow" made a HUGE come back this month coming in at number 3! "Say It Right" continues to stay strong. "Here In Your Arms" has turned out to be a song that dies out fast and came in a low 8th... I wouldn't expect to see it again next month. I just can't stay away from "Wind It Up". It too made a come back this month. Justin Timberlake's song "What Goes Around Comes Around" was a song I HATED when it first came out, but since then I have grown very fond of it, and hence it's high position for the month. I also got new music from Gwen and Jojo.

JANUARY 2007

January, January, January. This month was interesting as far as music goes. The first half of the month was absolutely BORING! And scary. I mean I had no new music to listen to, and that was coming off of an uneventful December. There was almost no plays of music in my world the first half of January. I began to wonder if I was even gonna be able to record any music for my Top 10. So I had to deal with it by playing older songs that I still kinda liked, hence the Top 10 had numerous old songs from last year. Then the second half of January came, THANKFULLY! Music began streaming in, and that is how we got to where we are now. My radio station played a commercial with Ashley Tisdale's new song. "He Said, She Said", and hence it became my number one song in January. Nelly Furtado's song "Say It Right" continues it upward climb, and is still showing no signs of getting old in my book. "Fergalicious" is slowly oozing it's way down, but is still in the top 5. A couple of old songs with new remixes made the 10. And if I think I am thinking correctly, lol, "Here (In Your Arms)" by Hellogoodbye may become a huge hit in February in my Top 10. "Candyman" once again continues it rapid rise to the top, as it has now been released to radio and I STILL LOVE IT even after it was number one way back in August! Can it make it back to the top after 6 months? Wait and see til' next month.
